Granville resident Jonathan J. Downes, of Downes, Hurst & Fishel was recently named a "Super Lawyer" in the Labor and Employment practice area in the publication, Ohio Super Lawyers 2009, a recognition he has held since 2004. Ohio's Super Lawyers are selected from a survey mailed to attorneys across Ohio, who were asked to vote for the best lawyers they personally observed in action. The credentials of nominated attorneys were reviewed and the lawyers were divided according to areas of practice. Only the top 5 % of attorneys in the state are named Super Lawyers.

Also recognized by Ohio Super Lawyers 2009 of Downes, Hurst & Fishel is Todd M. Ellsworth. Mr. Ellsworth has been named as 2009 Ohio Rising Star based on his peer recognition and professional achievements.
