- In February, DH&F successfully defended the Hocking County Board of Elections before the Ohio Supreme Court. The Board of Elections had refused to certify a candidate to be on the 2008 Primary Election ballot as a candidate for County Sheriff, because it determined that he was not qualified. The candidate sued the Board of Elections in the Ohio Supreme Court. DH&F attorneys Marc Fishel, Paul Bernhart and David Riepenhoff defended the Board in the lawsuit. The Supreme Court ruled that the Board's decision was proper and dismissed the lawsuit.
- Associate Paul M. Berhnart has recently been appointed as a representative of the New Lawyers Section Council by the Ohio State Bar Association. Mr. Bernhart will serve three years as representative.
