Marc is highly regarded for his ability to handle tough situations beyond his primary practice area.
Before becoming an original member and partner with DH&F, Marc worked as a law clerk to the Honorable T. Eugene Burts, Administrative Law Judge, U.S. Department of Labor, and has served as adjunct professor of Employment Law at Wittenberg University. He is a frequent speaker and lecturer on issues relating to labor and employment matters, including discipline, collective bargaining, employment discrimination and Fair Labor Standards Act. Focused on both short and long term results, he always considers the practical implications of every situation to provide the greatest value to his clients. Marc graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cleveland State University and earned his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University College of Law. He is a proud father of two children and serves on a number of community non-profit boards.
PRACTICE AREAS
Labor and Employment Law
Representation of public and private employers in all areas of labor and employment relations, including all facets of contract negotiations, mediation, conflict resolution procedures, arbitration, and the daily administration of internal policies, state and federal laws, and collective bargaining agreements.
Representation of employers before administrative agencies pertaining to personnel matters, including the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, U.S. Department of Labor, State Employment Relations Board, and State Personnel Board of Review.
Preparation of employee handbooks, manuals, and drug testing policies for private and public sector clients. Marc also advises clients on all issues relating to employee relations and local governmental law and assists with client newsletters in the area of labor relations, employment law, and local governmental law.
Civil Litigation
Representation of clients in all facets in litigation in Federal and State trial and appellate courts.
Representation in appeals of administrative agency determinations.
Government Law
Representation of clients in various matters including public records and sunshine law compliance, competitive bidding requirements, intergovernmental disputes, and contract matters.
Instruction
Instruction in numerous seminars on various topics including human resources, FLSA, unlawful discrimination and harassment, civil rights, ethics, FMLA, ADA and civil service law.
